Fishing

Fishing at Logan Ranch

Sturgeon Lake, about 20 minutes away, is a reliable Pickerel and Pike lake.

You're in Arctic Grayling and Bull Trout country with streams like Smoky, Little Smoky, Simonette and Kakwa all within two hours.

You can have days on these rivers you'll never forget when the grayling are rising to a dry fly and the big bull trout are cruising the depths of the same pool looking for an easy meal.  The grayling fishing is particularly good in August when they start gathering in pools to migrate to their winter homes. The Little Smoky is regarded as a blue ribbon grayling stream, and its prime stretches are, quite rightly, catch and release only.

A five minute drive will take you where the Cornwall and Harper Creeks flow into the Simonette River.  Not only is the scenery beautiful, but Grayling, Pickerel, and Trout congregate there too!  Try out your hand at Fly fishing or spin casting.

Swan Lake, 20 minutes away, is famous throughout the province for large Rainbow Trout.  Shore fishermen and boaters have great success.  However, this lake is particularly popular with belly boaters!
